Welcome to Art with Ms. Joseph!

I am thrilled to be your student's visual arts teacher this year at WPACES! I'm so excited to have the opportunity to be a part of your student's creative experiences and artistic growth.

Throughout the year I plan on exposing our students to a wide range of different artists, art styles and art mediums. I will encourage them to talk intelligently about art and see the beauty in the world around them. They will learn how to use the elements of art and the principles of design. They will also learn about how art has evolved throughout history and explore multicultural arts and crafts. In anticipation of having an art show in the spring, I will be keeping much of your student's artwork at school to be displayed. I will be sending their work home at the end of the school year for your enjoyment.

It is my expectation that all students will do their best in art class just as they would in any other class at WPACES. Qualities for success in art class are; a good attitude, good listening skills, teamwork skills, creative problem-solving skills, and a sense of exploration and curiosity. Art provides the opportunity for students to experience a different atmosphere from the standard classroom setting. It can be fun, relaxing, hands-on, messy, exciting, challenging, and many other potentially new and sometimes out of the ordinary experiences.
